Dana Barrett Volleyball Tournament 2019
The Dana Barrett Volleyball Tournament was created by Dana’s friends and family to raise money for Dana Barrett’s rapidly accumulating medical bills.
JOIN US Sunday, September 8th from 10am – 5pm as we volley for Dana! All skill levels welcome! Enjoy food, raffles and more at this day-long event organized in partnership with the East End Volleyball League. Food and water will be provided for all registered players. Team Registration starts at 9AM and insurance is included in the ticket cost.
This event is rain or shine with all proceeds being donated to Dana in the event of a rain-out. If you're interested in donating or volunteering please email [email protected].

• Teams of at least 6 players (and up to ten)
• Please provide all team member names upon registration
• Registration required by September 1st
• Teams must check-in as a group at the registration tent starting at 9AM on September 8th
On June 30th, 2019, Dana Barrett, born and raised in East Quogue, NY, suffered a severe spinal injury in a tragic pool accident. After being airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital it was determined she suffered a C2 fracture, resulting in paralysis from the neck down and the inability to breathe on her own. Surgery has recently been performed to repair the fracture but her spinal cord has been permanently damaged. The doctors have said there is still hope but she will need extensive rehabilitation. The rehabilitation is going to be a considerable financial burden, as early estimations that have been given to her family are thousands of dollars per day. The road to recovery will take years.
In Dana’s 28 years of life, she has been through more than most can comprehend. As many of you reading this already know, she lost her father when she was 16 and her mother when she was 21 years old. Despite this, she has always held her head high and has amazed her friends and family with her strength and selflessness. You may have seen Dana’s story recently featured on News 12 Long Island and WNBC 4.
The Dana Barrett Volleyball Tournament will be run in partnership with East End Volleyball League at Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays, NY. The tournament will be held from 10am - 5pm on Sunday September 8th 2019. We are collecting raffle donations however we ask all financial donations be made directly to Danas go fund me page; www.gofundme.com/danabarrettstrong.

Registered teams will be provided playing time, food & beverages throughout the day and will be eligible to win prizes generously donated by East End Volleyball League.
100% of the proceeds of this event will go directly to the Dana Barret Supplemental Needs Trust. The trust has been created to supplement the care, maintenance, support and education of Dana. In the unlikely event any funds are not used for Dana's benefit, they shall be distributed to one or more charitable organizations that provide support, funding for cure research, knowledge and educational programs for people living with paralysis and their caregivers.
